What does men dying on battlefields have to do with right to revoke consent. There is no law which prevents you to revoke consent before marriage. At least you have not provided any evidence of that.
There could be some special cases where the girl is pregnant or the girl committs suicide like Nafisa Joseph and Jiah Khan.
