Its no big a deal, Rakhiji. Given the choice between 50g of carbs in huge slice of Tiramisu for after dinner OR empty tasteless carbs in a plate of rice or pasta or bread? No-brainer ... I rather starve all day to enjoy the cake later in the night.

Not all carbs (calories for you) are created equal. Veggies have carbs and calories in big numbers ... except for a fact ... all the nutrition and FIBER (in them veggies) cancel out most of the carbs and calories. Take for example raw Carrots ... many consider it to be a negative calorie food ... takes body (digestive system) a huge effort to digest it and expel insoluble fiber. I think so ... speaking strictly for myself. Doctors and dieticians would know better.
