Existing Indian rail runs on century old infrastructure. Proposed bullet train will run on decades old but highly reliable Japanese technology.

Donít blame the persons. Just like understaffed pandus actually keep the law and order going, the railway staff keeps the mammoth system safe. For every accident, there are at least a lakh safe trips. If you got the Netflix access from Jagguji, there is a British documentary on Mumbai locals, which also covers a bit of mainline rail, that talks about the safety procedures.
