There is no enjoying of troubles or pain, neither is there any fight. These are normal people, go out of the main cities and you will find such hapless souls making up a big chunk of more than the billion people that form the population of India.

there is no parallel, but out of curiosity, do you think gandhi and all his followers who gladly faced lathi dandas from angrej people were masochists?
You got to understand that Gandhi and his followers, fellow freedom fighters, were actually putting up a fight... they were just not accepting things as they are... why because what they saw did not seem right.

I understand when you say that there are a lot of people out there in India (a majority of the population) that just accept things as they are and go about doing things with the fear of making things even worse if they put up a fight. But you also got to understand that this is no longer the case. That people are getting frustrated... and they are putting up a fight in their own way. Cases in e.g., the suiciding farmers... the burning brides... the getting-naked old men (as shown in the munna-bhai movie... hope people are using this in real life... and not just the peta-kind).

By nature a human being will not accept wrong-doing without a feeling of frustration or anger... however lowly that being may be. Unless... unless s/he is a masochist. So, a normal human being who continues with the way things are has to belong to Category 1. And I reiterate, there are no other categories (for a normal person).
