Talking

this discussion has been carried on since time and again and many names have cropped up .first let us discuss the requistes of a person who can be called as the best batsman in modern conext of the game

1]he must score runs
2]consistantly score runs
3]his techinque should be good
4]he should be a good runner between the wickets
5]he should demoralise the bowling by his shotplay
6]he should adjust his game according to the wicket, bowlers, weather conditions and match conditions
7]his scoring rate should be as near to run a ball as possible
8]he should have big scores against his name
9]he should be equally good in both forms of the game[one day and test]
10]he should play when the team is in dire straits and in difficult situations

[people are invited to add to this list of requisites]

The contenders to this list include people who have not played one day cricket as well
1] donald bradman[avg 99 ,2 triple centuries,10 doulbe centuries,etc]
actually i am against having bradman in this list because bradman is not a "person" but is a god in cricket and people should not be compared with god but...
2] len hutton[334 no]
3] w g grace[sheer runscoring audacity]
4] garfield sobers[365]
5]sachin tendulakr
6]vivian richards
7] barry richards [s.a could not play much cricket because of cricket ban on south africa]
8]brian lara
9]sunil gavaskar
10]steve waugh

[people are invited to add to this list]

Of all these people sachin tendulkar seems to be the best[ i am not concidering bradman cauz he is god and i dont compare people with god]
viv richard and sunil gavasker seem to follow the littele master

[people are invited to post their own opinions about who is the best batsman]

Will there ever be a time...

Will there ever be a time that India is going to convincingly beat another country in the game of cricket? It was extremely dissapointing to see India play in the recent test match with Australia. Even with so many big names, our batting fails to impress. The less said about our bowling the better. Was Indian fielding ever a topic of discussion?

Sigh....

Cool Fantastic

Solkar at forward shortleg, Abid at backward shortleg, Venkat at silly pt./ gully and wadekar in slips possibly formed the greatest close-in catching cordon ever in the history of cricket
They made Bedi, Pras, and Chandra our most lethal bowling troika ever to represent India.
