French Open 2014

Looks like Nadal is totally out of form this year and might not be able to retain his title.

Joko looks in good touch and Federer is playing much better than last year. Ferrer can cause a few upsets as well.

I will go with DJokovic

Re: French Open 2014

Nadal is getting there, i think his full confidence is not back since loss of aussie open but he has the knack of peaking at the right time.

Another person likely to do well is Wawrinka, he may again take out Joko if their paths meet, Nurray has been playing decent too.

Wawa is already out in first round. He made 62 unforced errors

I see Nadal losing in the same fashion, he is not looking convincing at all ...

Kei Nishikori is out as well, he was expected to create a few upsets, but hard luck.

BTW, his coach is Michael Chang

Re: French Open 2014

No way Rafa losing before finals.. Rafa in 5 sets on clay not easy even for Djokovic.. He always peaks at end of tournament but has admitted he is not playing the best and that he's getting older so it will be a struggle for him.

He said so after the match with Murray during Madrid Open

Quote:
”Get used to (it),” Nadal said of his recent struggles. ”With the years that’s the normal thing. Everybody suffers. That’s part of the sport.” ”I play against one of the top players in the world after two tough days,” Nadal said. ”If I play well I’m going to have my chances, if not I’m going to spend the weekend (at home) in Mallorca.”

Re: French Open 2014

I am not following Nadal's recent form - but I have known great players to lift their game on big occasions.

So I will go with Nadal.

Congratulations ! Rafa proved many wrong.. You and I just predicted the right result. Now Rafa's uncle and coach Tony is #DREAMIN9 of the 10th French Open, very much possible next year. Rafa stuck to his game plan and after first set it yielded results.

Some things I like about Rafa..

Rafa was trained by his uncle to play with humility, never lose respect for game and opponents, he has never thrown the racket EVER in his career, Djokovic does so almost every match.

Rafa plays every match at its merit, is never overjoyed or overly disappointed when he loses. Last year losing the Wimbledon's first round he was asked if it was a tragedy, he said its only a game, somebody loses somebody wins. I will work harder next time.

Now this is the real champion I admire and I have never missed any of Rafa's final matches, ATP, Davis, Olympic, etc. If you are a fan, you might want to follow this website: rafaelnadalfans.com
