Question reproduction at atomic level

I have been wonderin for sometime now. Cells are the basic builing blocks of living beings that are capable of reproduction. The cell is made of organelle, that in turn by macro-molecule and that in turn by atoms.

What is it that happens at the atomic level that causes reproduction at the cellular level?

Nice question, Harami. Something that even I used to think about.

Nothing happens at atomic level that causes reproduction at cellular level. It's vice-versa. Things happen at cellular level which leads to formation of more mass and hence more atoms. The only thing that changes at the atomic level is the total number of atoms.

btw...what atoms are these? Carbon, rite?

Sure. And the sum of mass and energy in the universe is constant.

So?

Yup Carbon wld be my guess too. This brings me to my next question: Stem cells form the basic building blocks of the human body --- they can be used to generate hair or used to generate fingers. How is this done?
