Respect for Chidambaram

Finally I have some respect for a Kangressi, that too Chidambaram. I always knew he's a great economist but this proves he is a sane man and this statement earns him some well deserved respect from me.

I recall clearly how families of Kandahar hijackees (allow your's truly to coin a new term) staged a dharna and barged into the then Prime Minister's (Vajpayee) residence. The families and all the opposition were working with Kangress and other opposition instead of working constructively with the Government.

Kandahar was easy to criticize, tough to decide: Chidambaram

Quote:
NEW DELHI: After the NDA government's decision to release terrorists in exchange for hostages in the Kandahar hijack 10 years ago came under attack
from several quarters, home minister P Chidambaram said he was "not sure" and that it was a "very difficult" decision.

"I do not know how I would have reacted if 150 families came to my door and pleaded that their loved ones in that aircraft must be saved. It is easy to criticize but if one is in that position, it is a very difficult decision," he said at an award function here on Wednesday night.

He was asked about some governments in the world having taken a pledge not to ever negotiate with terrorists and whether India should also embrace that principle or was it far too over simplistic.

"It is a wholesome principle but I agree that it is an over-simplification....I am not sure. I don't know whether it can be applied in all situations," Chidambaram said.

The decision of the Vajpayee government to release three terrorists including Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar in December 1999, came in for flak from various political parties including the Congress, more so because the then external affairs minister Jaswant Singh accompanied the terrorists to Kandahar.

Subsequently, Azhar's name has figured in the December 2001 Parliament attack and the attack outside the J&K Assembly in Srinagar in the same month.

Re: Respect for Chidambaram

Chidu is going to be a good Home Minister. basically with Pranav Mukherjee as Foreign Minister,Chidambaram as Home Mnister but Over all Digvijay Singh as Prime Minister plus all Arjun Singh and co. kicked out, Congress will be as good as BJP.

But Alas there is abig Gandhi Family thing and people need to have some dosage of slavery of Gandhi Family

Pranav/Chidu are quite efficient, good and competent in what ever they do.
But they are seedha saadha bachas and can't go beyond Sonia Maan.

But Digvijay Singh is Shrewd/Cunning/Honest and ruthless politician. . Thats why Sonia will always keep him at peripherry as she is doing now. He is on lines of PVN.

e,g of DigVijay Singh's cunningness: If he has to thrash Missionaries. He will get some Nun raped and Missionaries thrashed and blame it on BJP. He will infiltrate the Bajrang Dal cadres with his own members who will do this. Then he will make them scared of BJP and win the elections also . Very Naughty indeed!!!. Thus he will achieve two objectives.

Re: Respect for Chidambaram

Your judgment is on the basis of one statement which only requires common sense.

Chidambaram is a good man but doesn't have a mind of his own. He simply says what he keeps hearing all the time.

Remember the budget in which he slashed the prices of only dog's food but inflated other things.

Re: Respect for Chidambaram

Chidambaram is minting money through Indiabulls a company owned by his son.He kept the proposal of unification of all nationalised banks into one.To kill off all the competition and then they could have their monopoly.dirty mofo..Home ministry mein bhi kuch aisa hee karega...unification of all polici forces into one

Re: Respect for Chidambaram

i was never a great fan of chidu , instead i always liked pranab da.
for all the chewtiyagiri on telangana issue of this great genius called chidambaram ...
those sitting at the top do not have visibility into an issue which is burning at the bottom, and keep continuously screwing up ...and you want me to appreciate chidu ? no way.
where is all the spine and guts of centre gone ?

Now im whole heartedly with full conviction saying ....Jai Telangana !!!

Angry Re: Respect for Chidambaram

I used to have respect for MMS and Chidambaram, but in recent years have lost for both. MMS for being a coward and Chiddu for being a crook of the first order. Seems a great education does not equate to good character or a spine.
