Polygamy - a case

I'll tellu an interesting anecdote about literate polygamy. This is in Salt City, Utah. The husband was 26 yrs, researcher in the Univ, doing his PhD. Wife is 29, and a lawyer. They have two kids.

The wife was denied promotin, as she could not travel to DC to argue some cases. Her kids formed a constraint. So she manipulated and got her legal assistant transferred, and got a young, sexy college girl as part time asst. Then she thre hints as to how they were planning to get another sister-wife (acceptable in Utah). She then sort-of parrades the asistant in front of her husband when he comes to meet her at lunch. She then arranges the marriage.

A great career move!!!

Hahahaha

Re: Polygamy - a case

There are several examples of famous Indian men having multiple wives or partners.
1. Nani Bhat, Mahesh Bhat's father - He claims he married Mahesh Bhatt's mother when Polygamy was legal for Hindus and hence Mahesh Bhat was not a 'Naajayaz' as he had been screaming in many of his movies.

2. MGR - apparently he had 4 'wives', Jayalalitha being the last of them.

3. Karunanidhi - Dont remember the details but his latest kid is also entering politics.

4. Dharam Paaji - Apparently became 'Dilwar Khan' to make it legal.

5. Harikrishna - Brother of Balakrishna (remember all the wierd stunts). Jr. NTR was born to his not legitimate wife, but has inherited the looks of original NTR.

And the one in the news which prompted this post.
Mulayam Singh Yadav - Never knew that he married a second time in 88, to one Sadhana Gupta. She seems to have brought him luck though. He became UP SM in 1989 I checked that his first wife (Akhilesh's mom) died in 2003. So, he was into polygamy for 15 years.

And, apparently banning Polygamy was one of the conditions for Utah to join the United States. Else, it was quite common there.
