The problem is not just with Murali. You read Ganguly's reply when asked about Akhtar. Its not that these guys chuck every ball. Its that odd one that does not come out right. For Akhtar and Lee it is difficult to mask the chucker, but for Murali it is easy for him to mask the chucker because of his bent arm.

Nahin yaar. Thats what differentiates Murali frm Lee and Akhtar. His arm is crooked. It never straightens. You can ball with a bent arm as long as you dont straighten it at the time of release. Murali can't straighten it even if he wants to. So there's no odd one for him. All his deliveries are with the bent arm.

Its the degree of bend at the elbow that varies. Lets say his range of motion at the elbow is limited to 160 degrees. Then that angle should be 160 degrees throughout the delivery. He cannot start at 130 degrees and 'straighten' to 160 degrees at the point of release. Thats why I say that Murali's naturally bent arm helps him mask the chucker.

Yeah it's a valid point. But the researchers did cover it. One of the guyz asked the same question to these Ravi and David fellas. The allegation against him has never been for the odd delivery. It has always been about every ball he bowls - and each one of them turn a meter or so.

bahut biological discussion ho rayela hai yahaan par...
The whole point is that since he has got crooked arm,he cannot bowl a legal bowl.
naya ye itna saara kachra(exclude Murali's site) kahaan se mila tere ku?

The rule says that the bend is okay if you don't straighten it just prior to the delivery. So his deliveries are legal.

Also, won't it be unethical if ICC starts banning people for physical disabilities ?

Yaar we can argue for ever for the heck of it. The fact remains that he doesn't cheat. The spin has nothing to with the elbow. The magic is in the wrist.

Thumbs up

Muttiah Muralitharan has again been reported to the ICC for having a suspect action. Chris Broad, the former England batsman who is the match referee for the Test series between Sri Lanka and Australia that finished today, has reported that in his opinion the action with which Muralitharan delivers the doosra - his "wrong'un" that turns from leg to off - is not legitimate.

Re: Throw the ball, Murali, Lee and Akhtar

I think Australians are feeling guilty now with the way Murali was treated on their land and they are compensating for that.
