Re: Bhagat Singh Special

Now see one question of General Study paper I of UPSC Mains examination of this year......

"Evaluate the contribution of revolutionary terrorism represented by Bhagat Singh in the freedom struggle of India"

Pata nahi kya dimag mein bharela hai in logo ke.......absolutely misleading and derogatory remarks to the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters....

Re: Bhagat Singh Special

Please observe a moment of silence for our great martyrs. Lets pay our respect to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru who paved way for Independence on March 23rd the "Martyr's day".

Thumbs up Re: Bhagat Singh Special

gorssly ignored heroes of our freedom struggle. At a point Bhagat Singhs popularity even started to rival Gandhi's (which was perhaps a subconcious part of Gandhi's defeat in negotiations with Irwine to get Bhagat Singh released or his death sentence commuted)
Salute to the Great men!

Bulls and craps!!
Bhagat singh never posed a threat to Gandhi's popularity(at least not till he was alive)...in fact Singh was not the most popular revolutionary... Aazad(Chandrashekhar) and Bismil were far more popular than him... Bhagat definitely was a rising star and his death added a lot to his legend.

He was a great man and he deserves every bit of respect he commands today but I don't think that at any point of time he matched Gandhi in popularity. I don't remember Gandhi fighting any case against him(in India)...he simply used to accept the Judge's decision. People don't understand this.... Gandhi can't be blamed for Singh's fate.

Let alone Singh, not even Bose at the peak of his popularity rivaled Gandhi's mass appeal... once refuting his sycophant's pandering that he(Bose) was more popular than Gandhi, Bose said that he hardly would be having 5 crores behind him but Gandhi had 20 crores.

Arre bande.. Raat ko closing ke time nikaal diye na. But had a lot of people asking about it. Seems like it is not considered a very important day in today's Bharat , nobody really knows about it. No special TV programs (at least for the duration that I watched TV), IPL all over (and the Kolkota fire in Flury's)
