Talking Ram used to eat non-veg and sita drank wine --party time !!

If sita drank wine why shouldn't all sati-savitri types not drink wine ??

and ram enjoyed dance of apsaras , then why are ladies bars closed ??

read--

Quote:
As narrated in the Valmiki Ramayana, after Rama's victorious vanquishing of Ravana and prior to Sita's banishment from the palace, Lord Rama and Sita enjoyed their reign in Ayodhya indulging in eating meat, drinking wine and being entertained by celestial nymphs (apsaras). Rama and Sita, who are worshipped by Hindus and simultaneously regarded as supreme figures to emulate, did not let Hindu ideals such as vegetarianism deter their quest for jubilant times in the kingdom.

I. Non-vegetarian Rama
II. Wine-drinking Sita

I. Non-vegetarian Rama

Rama's non-vegetarian inclinations are apparent early in the Valmiki Ramayana; in Ayodhyakanda sarga 20, he laments to his mom Kausalya about his imminent exile from the kingdom into the forest (due to his wicked co-mom Kaikeyi's plot) during which he would be abstaining from meat as is served at the palace:

"[Rama:] 'I shall live in the forest for fourteen years abstaining from animal food and living on tuberous roots and fruits like unto the ascetics. The king shall confer upon Bharata the heir-apparentship and shall banish me as an ascetic into the forest. And I shall live in that solitary forest for eight and six years, feasting on roots, and fruits and performing the duties of a hermit.' " -- Ramayana 2:20. [Dutt, Manmatha Nath. The Ramayana: translated into English prose from the original Sanskrit of Valmiki. Calcutta: Deva Press, 1889-94. Vol. I. p.246].

However, Rama resumes his meat-consumption (and alcohol-consumption) upon returning to Ayodhya after his coronation, as revealed in the next quote.

II. Wine-drinking Sita

After recovering his kidnapped wife Sita from Lanka, Rama's coronation is performed upon returning to Ayodhya. Both Rama and Sita spend their evenings enjoying wine as well as succulent well-cooked meats in the Asoka-grove. The following quote which captures this regal scene is from Uttarakanda sarga 52 (or sarga 42 in some editions) of Valmiki Ramayana:

"All the trees in the forest were filled with flowers. And the rocks there, covered with flowers falling down from trees, appeared like welkin beautified with stars. And Rama's Asoka forest was like unto Indra's Nandana and Kuvera's Chitraratha made by Brahma. Having entered the rich Asoka forest abounding in many seats and houses and creepers Rama sat on an excellent seat, covered with a beautiful coverlet and well constructed. Like unto Purandara with Sachi he took Sita by the hand, made her sit and drink the wine distilled in the province of Mira. And in no time the servants brought for him well-cooked meat and various fruits. Being inebriete the beautiful Apsaras, well-skilled in the art of singing and dancing, began to dance before Rama in the company of Kinnaris. The virtuous-souled Rama, the foremost of those who know how to please, satisfied those beautiful damsels adorned with various ornaments. And Sita sitting by him, he appeared like the effulgent Vasishtha in the company of Arundhati. Being greatly delighted the celestial-like Rama pleased every day Sita resembling a celestial damsel. Sita and Raghava (Rama) thus spent their days happily. And thus was spent the delightful winter giving all enjoyments. Enjoying various things the high-souled Rama and Sita spent ten thousand years. Once on a time, having performed all the religious ceremonies, in the fore part of the day, Rama, to spend the evening, entered the inner apartment. Sita, too, having performed all religious ceremonies, at first attended to the service of her mothers-in-law. Thereupon wearing a beautifully coloured cloth and being adorned with various ornaments Sita appeared before Rama like unto Sachi approaching the king of celestials in heaven. And beholding the auspicious signs of pregnancy in his spouse Rama attained to excessive delight." -- Ramayana 7:52. [Dutt, Manmatha Nath. The Ramayana: translated into English prose from the original Sanskrit of Valmiki. Calcutta: Deva Press, 1889-94. Vol. III. pp.1716-1717].

As narrated above, Lord Rama and Sita spent ten thousand years enjoying such joyous activities. Then one day, after Rama impregnated Sita (as illustrated above), rumors of Sita's sexual infidelity with her former captor Ravana were circulating among the populace of Ayodhya. So, as to avoid offending his subjects and to retain his reputation as a virtuous monarch, Rama banished his pregnant wife into the wilderness, although he knew the rumors were false; from that point on Rama and Sita would eventually meet their demise with the Ramayana ending ultimately as a tragedy, though the two do return to heaven as Lord Vishnu and his consort Laxmi.

Re: Ram used to eat non-veg and sita drank wine --party time !!

All Kshtriya's or Warrior clans use to eat Meat and drink Wine. Brahmins and Vaisyas were only Prohibited. Ram/Krishna/pandvas all use to eat Meat and deer was favorite.

Even Ashwamedha yajna's Horse was also eaten . Sita only asked Ram to kill Deer.

Hindu religion was hardcore Carnivorous and both Kshtriyas and Sudras have similar habits .

Only brahmins and Vaisyas were supposed to be free from Vices because their Professions required Purity of Thoughts and Cool Mind.Frame

Even pure Jews also eat Kosher Meal which is similar to kind of purity which Jains/Marvaris associate with Meals. All are Business Community

but few Rishis like shukracharya drank wine. Asuras mixed flesh of his disciple kacha in wine and made him to drink

this attitude came into Hinduism because Buddhist and Jain philosophies were anti meat, so to maintain their holier than thou attitude Brahmans reinvented themselves. this is strength of Hindus, they can adjust themselves to harshest of condition and that is why they survived for over 5000 years and progressing

So, it took ten thousand years for Ram to impregnate Sita... talk about a slow-poke. If all Indians took that long to impregnate their wives... we would have been long extinct

Precisely so what!!!
Ram also went around killing asurs and daityas. Comparing age old morality with today's values is stupid and irrelevant.

Rightly said, in fact Jainism and Buddhism was formed opposing the Meat eating habits of Hindus and too much ANimal killing in Yajnas.

But Jeet bhai said part is that Buddhists are prone to be won over and converted to Violent Ideologies like to Jehadi version of Islam in Afganistan and to Maoism in China.

Hindusim/Sikhism/Jainism are not too Violent but they also do not succumb to violence.

Islam was actually religion to civilize tribal, when it reached banks of Indus they found another religion equally strong in ideology and more advanced in every spiritual activity and it didnít achieve success, majority of people who converted wished just to gain political berths in sultanís court which was grabbed by rajputs and Brahmins but not Indian muslim. Mahmood gawan, prime minister behind success of Bahamani kingdom was Iranian.

Islam never penetrated in rural India, main strength of Hindus lies there, still Muslims are involved in secondary activities not primary, and they generally donít have villages.

Muslims never mess around once they get to know other can retaliate, they threw pro-indian pundits from valley but not Sikhs because one blast in Sikh area will result in series of blasts in Muslim areas and they know Sikhs can do it, rise of Hindu fundamentalism though wrong in civic sense is a strong lesson to them, sooner or later they will stop messing around.

After drinking wine and watching dance of apsaras they flew in pushpak viman. Donít expect your airline pilot to do the same with wine and air hostesses

Re: Ram used to eat non-veg and sita drank wine --party time !!

Indian Culture is strange. Most of Movies show Thakur or Rajputs as Villains till early 90s as they were made by Leftist Mindset people.

But Dalits or Shudras have no anger against them on ground level as Jamindars do have taken care of them also if sometimes abused them.

Mayawati or even kanshiram never abuse Rajputs.

Their main object of Jealousy are Brahmins as they are considered pure.

Given first chance all Dalits want to marry Brahmins and all OBC want to marry Rajputs. Ambedkar married Brahmin,

Mayawati is surrounded by Brahmins. Her main Advisor and Friend is a Brahmin.

Mulayam Singh married his son to a Rajput Girl. Mulayam Singh considers himself a Yaduvanshi Rajput.

So though caste System is hated by Leftists, all the OBC and Dalits are following it by Heart. It is just that they want to move up the Varna Chain

Re: Ram used to eat non-veg and sita drank wine --party time !!

Dalits can write hindu books but they were never hero of the story, it was either Brahmins or kshatriyas. As far as I know yadavs have martial characteristics like Rajputs even now. Both Sri Krishna and Kunti were yadavs, and they had kingdom like Mathura and Dwarika plus historical kingdom like devegiri in Maharashtra.

So what is actual status of Yadavs?
I even heard lodis of kalian singh type, using title singh and calling themselves Lodi Rajput though never mentined either in mahabharat or ramayan.
everyone in OBC wishes to call himself Rajput but not Brahmins

OBC were the Warrior clans and hence Kshtriyas. Even RamVilas Paswan calls himself a Kshtriya locally . Rajputs were a later demarcation. Chandragupta Maurya was also OBC.
