What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

“Money is like the sixth sense without which you can’t completely enjoy the other five”, Money can be a poor man's soul and a rich man's honour but whats the limit that you would call yourself rich ?

My idea of being rich is constant flow of income with an annual increase of 20%.Bank balance can never make you rich but constant inflow and proper investments can surely.Being rich does not mean flaunting your money and assets its about being able to fulfil your desires.

When would you call yourself rich ?

When I can go business/first class back and forth to India (tickets for all of my family)... and not worry about the prices... I can call myself rich

Re: What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

Well,.... ther' s a very simple, ominously and unanimously, unbeaten,…. and a 'hands-down winner' answer to this,... ( Yess,.. Hey, almighty bring her back,.... n' then see,.. "Muj se badhkar Kaun" ? ! )

Click below link and the time-counter is already set,..
play for 1 min
and later play the full clip in its entirity video, from the beginning,..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Z9P_LzBM8&t=0m19s

And, whenever,... no matter how many times,.... I listen to this video-clip,
it has never failed, to bring down an ocean of down-pour
with a berry-size tears of Niagara fall, from my eyes !!

I have gone thro’ it,... what he says,…. And hence I also know it very well,...“ Who are the richest people in the world ! “

When I do not need to worry about depletion of my savings for fulfilling any whim of mine, I can feel rich

Re: What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

Nothing because there is always someone richer than you ...........

Because as you become richer you start hanging out with people that are slightly richer than you and then you fall into that damn trap.......

So even after buying a million dollar house I am not rich because I am still driving Toyota Camry and I should have bought a E350 ( Like Kali ) .

But then my friend has a two houses and one is on the beach valued at 2.3Mil.

So help me God when does this stop.........

When you are not perturbed by any of this. There is nothing more satisfying than the richness of the soul......

Re: What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

Good topic.

Here's what I feel. If I can earn a passive income that exceeds all my expenses, I am rich.

Say for example, I have $3 million, I can invest in US treasuries at 7%. So my annual income is $210,000. If I can live lavishly, without any debt, for < $210,000, then I'm rich. Not only is my principal protected, I am adding to it every year. I also have the luxury of doing whatever I want to do without worrying about finances.

Does it work that way? Doesn't whims and desires increase in proportion to finances? Pl read Dirty below ... he writes sense.

Isn't it a trap? Will you be able to enjoy traveling economy ever again? Don't think so.

Why do you think our Kaangressis and their cohorts steal public money by thousands of crores? Because they will need all the money they can steal to live lifestyle they have become accustomed to at tax payers expense.

What sort of annual interest return do you expect on a crore? Have you given a thought to inflation? An ordinary flat costs more than that in minor cities.

Depressing ... not in this thread bhai saheb.

edit/add ...
Jagmohanji, I recall reading ... one of your children is a doctor? You must be a made man by now? How does it feel? Has it been a smooth life or were there struggles? Were there any doubts ever? Regrets if any? Most of us here are married with kids at different stages of studies ... I can speak on behalf of all of us ... look forward to the day when we fix ourselves a stiff drink, lie down on sofa all relaxed and declare with a smile ... "well, I did all right, didn't I!" ... do you often? Please disregard if too personal ...

Re: What would make you feel, "Yes, I'm rich"?

Relatively modest standards.
1. A Million Dollar Home.
2. One Audi A3 and one fully loaded BMW 7 series.
3. Million Dollars in Savings/Current accounts.
4. No Debt.
