Collapse of the Dollar??

I am hearing things from a lot of guys that $$ is about to collapse. Is it true? Does anyone know about it?

There was a guy here called Haridev Madhava, who knew all these things. If he is still there, could he answer?

A US Dollar collapse is not imminent. In fact, the US economy is doing fairly well. The country has weaned itself from foreign oil. The US may be on a long term bull market.

Re: Collapse of the Dollar??

If Chinese invade Taiwan or India, you can bet dollar will collapse. The only time Chinese would take this risk is when it knows it is immune from market.

On the other hand, if Chinese go for manned moon mission, you can rest assured nothing will happen to dollar.

Re: Collapse of the Dollar??

What will the dollar collapse against? For all practical purposes USD is the global reserve currency.

it doesn't need to collapse against. It can implode.

Oh yeah... I think that USA has a goal of energy independence by 2020 or something. The Arabs must be sweating bullets about it . I hope America's targets are based on their domestic production (including Canada) and not considering the output from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Whenever the dollar index goes up, gold goes down. In last year or so, Rajan has done a good job of holding INR. If he continues with it, some people's dream of gold @Rs. 16000 per 10 gms may come true
