5. It is a ploy by Westerners at cultural domination as these contests are of multi-national making.

Is all this right? Must we for a few rupees destroy thye very fabric of our culture?

What do we have to say about this now ?

Hmm. It would be too much of freedom. And what happens in such cases is old women (and men) would start streaking. BTW, the ATM lady in Docjis pic didnt look too bad.

A lot of things you see around are western constructs like parliament, secularism, judiciary, Banks, insurance, etc. Although IAS was inspired by ancient China, it was introduced into India by the British.

The most interesting part. i had already given my take on this earlier

This is the Licence Permit raj speaking. Is any taxpayer money being spent on this? In fact if i could use the Lience permit raj era term, 'Priyanka Chopra is earning valuable foreign exchange'. BTW, The commies were complaining in 92-93 "Does the country need cellphones"

There actually have been peaceful participants like Gauhar Khan (she was in Miss India 2002 when this thread came). Now, Diya Mirza and Zeenat Aman have peaceful sounding names, but probable they were not peaceful. BTW, many would consider Banks also as 'Unislamic'. So, do we shut down Fixed deposits and debentures too?

'Right Thinking Hindus'. Now, supposedly right wing Hindu bodies have been against beauty pageants, but you have Smriti Irani now. Yukta Mookhey also joined BJP in 2004 (wrong time)

I do agree that all the winners in 90s were to sell more cosmetics and shampoos, but what is wrong in selling Cosmetics to women.
