B.A. Pass

B.A. Pass

Cast: Shilpa Shukla, Shadab Kamal, Rajesh Sharma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya
Direction: Ajay Bahl
Genre: Drama
Duration: 1 hour 35 minutes

Story:
A college boy struggles for survival. A married woman is high on erotica. Their illicit relationship ends in a spiral of sex, seduction and betrayal.

Review: Unbutton, unbuckle and unstrap the senses. It's going to be one erotic escapade - kinky, caustic, brutal and brave. With ample 'O's and 'Ahhs!' Some painfully fake, others carnally climaxed. Adapted from Mohan Sikka's short story, 'Railway Aunty', it's about the doom and desperation of an impoverished life and the extremes one can go to redeem themselves of an ignominious existence.

The orphaned and penniless Mukesh (Shadab) moves to Delhi to live with his bua and complete his B.A degree. Deprived of love and respect, he befriends grave-digger Johnny (Dibyendu) who becomes his chess mate. Until one day he meets the fiercely flirtatious married auntyji, Sarika (Shilpa), who swiftly seduces and beds him.

The one-day adultery turns into addiction, she plays sex-guru and he surrenders as sex-slave. The moods of passion and 'positions' change with shades of her lingerie and Mukesh sinks deeper into this promiscuous 'sinfest'. The erotic ecstasy is dramatically disrupted when he's betrayed by both fate and friendship.

Shilpa brazenly wears the sex-hungry look and performs steamy acts. From being hot in bed, to crassly cold out-of-bed - (Quote: "Sikhaya maine, mazey sab lenge") - the ease with which she enacts her part is shocking, but impactful. Shadab reveals a range of emotions, and pulls off a complex role heightened by uninhibited sexual exploits.

Debutant Ajay Bahl's film is dark and deeply disturbing. The subject boldly pulls off the cover on what happens behind closed (bedroom) doors of a society that thrives on pseudo morals and values. While the movie doesn't exploit eroticism, a little subtlety would have as much 'shock' value. The sex-scenes are too overused (though well-crafted), and after a point it looks repetitive.

If you want a change from the colourful canvas of Bollywood, and you like it dark, very dark - test this one out.

Any actual T&A on display or just the usual cock-teasing?

Thumbs up B.A. Pass - From Chak De to Thok De

I saw this film , no not in a theater, but on my computer. Print was DVD quality.

The film's main character is one Sarika Aunty (Yeah, like Savita Bhabhi) played by the same chick who looked lot younger in Chak De India but looks like an aunty who aged fast in this film.

The film is based on some short story "The Railway Aunty" by Mohan Sikka.

Yeah, I remember these details because .. well, fuck, the film is not the usual Bollywood movie.

The long and short of it is - A young boy, living at his paternal aunt's place (reminds you of Mastraam stories) is preyed upon by this 'Aunty' who teaches him how to fuck. After his training is complete, he is made into a 'gigolo' with the aunty as his pimp.

And then ... well, the movie is worth a watch for the way it all ends. Its not just 'Thok De' and 'Chodna' in the film.

And can the fucking censors and desi directors get off their high prude horses and go all out like Meera Nair does?

will check it out. Interesting desc. But 2 things

1. There is no other thread with the tag of chodampati
2. The girl in the pic actually resembles Michael Jackson (at least the style of smiling)

Re: B.A. Pass - From Chak De to Thok De

Ashdoc's review

I went to see this movie because the professional reviewers were going to town saying how good the movie is blah blah blah....

On the other hand I being part of the common janta ( and you know what is the mindset of the janta ) was frankly enticed by the prospect of seeing an experienced older woman deflower a young college going boy's virginity , at least on screen---a promise that was held out by what i had heard about the film.

A common comment made by young males about such adulterous ' aunties ' is---'' Where was she when I was in college ??!!!!! ''

Indeed , it is every young male's dream to meet such an ' aunty ' who will give uninhibited pleasure without attachment and take him to the gates of heavenly carnal bliss .

The movie blows away those dreams by exposing the dark underbelly of such dalliances with momentarily pleasure giving ' aunties ' and the hell that they can lead to....

So our hero Mukesh ( played by Shadab Kamal ) loses his parents and comes under the guardianship of his kindly aunt in Delhi where he pursues his BA degree . He is only in first year of his BA course . His aunt's son does not like his presence however and there is constant friction between them . Besides this , his younger sisters are kept in a girl's hostel and Mukesh is their only protector .

And to his aunt's kitty parties comes the delicious ' aunty ' Sarika ( played by Shilpa Shukla ) , who constantly begins to invite Mukesh to her house for some pretext .

......And when Mukesh finally goes to her house , what happens next made me ask the same question asked by untold men when they hear about the escapades of such ' aunties ' ---'' Where was she when I was in college ??!!!! ''

.....For without further ado , Sarika takes Mukesh directly to bed and climbs on top of him and its '' Bang bang thank you young man ''.....
Mind you , hardly any foreplay.....
The sex is rough , direct and to the point .
And it happens again and again....

But before you start to think that at least one boy called Mukesh has unlocked the gates of heaven , reality comes hitting home....

.....For Sarika sends him to another such ' aunty ' who forces him by means of threats to unwillingly have sex with her.....

......And the price and prize of such sex---money showered on Mukesh in copious amounts.....
Mukesh has become nothing but a male prostitute---a gigolo !!
He is now nothing but a piece of meat to be used and abused by other older women who devour such young boys .

But fate has yet to strike its cruelest blow....
When Mukesh comes to Sarika's house to safekeep the money he has earnt by peddling his body to women , Sarika's husband walks in only to see the horrific scene of his wife in bed with this boy....

From then on is the path to catastrophe as things go from bad to worse to hellish in Mukesh's life.....

The movie is dark and nightmarish and likely to put you into the dispair of depression.....

Amongst all this depression Mukesh is aware that he has to also fend for his younger sisters---who are themselves under threat of being trafficked into the den of prostitution.....

To save them Mukesh is ready to go to any lengths , any.....

And the lengths Mukesh goes to save his sisters makes some really bad viewing....

To be honest , some of the audience was in titters as Mukesh goes into the depths of depravity to earn some money....
......But I was not enjoying seeing these parts at all.....

Mukesh's only friend in these times is a chess player named Johnney.....His only beacon of hope....

So can Mukesh survive with the help of Johnney ?? And what about his sisters ?? Can he save them too ??
Watch the movie for that...

Or dont watch maybe.... For this is the kind of movie that can put you in a really bad mood after watching it.....

The director creates a world of scheming lust filled older women and pimps and prostitutes and shady characters and fear of the law.....and the insight of this world fills you with foreboding.....
You feel relived that you dont belong to THAT part of town but also ashamed that you lead comparitively secure lives while not caring about others who suffering.....

.....And the plight of those who suffer is not something that you would like to watch....

Verdict---Dark and depressing ; not recommended .

Sidenote---All those professional reviewers are saying the movie is good because it has a ' arty ' feel to it . There is something in it for the art movie lovers .
But I am not such a highfundoo person , so please forgive me....

I too read about it and searched now, its not Shilpa Shukla (chak de heroine) though the lead of the movie but another actress Shikha Joshi who kill herself.

BA Pass actress Shikha Joshi ends her life

The 40 year old model turned actor commits suicide in her Andheri home
Actress Shikha Joshi, who starred in critically acclaimed BA Pass, was found dead in her apartment last night. It is said that the model turned actor committed suicide by slitting her throat with a knife.

The 40 year old Shikha Joshi came to the city two months back looking for work and it is said that she was forced to end her life due to lack of work. Shikha used to stay with her friend at a housing society in Andheri West. According to police records, around 6:30 pm on Saturday, Shikha went into the bathroom with a knife. “A few minutes later, the roommate knocked on the bathroom door asking Joshi to come out. The roommate asked Joshi why she was taking so long inside. When the door opened, her neck was covered in blood,” said Ravindranath Pawar, senior inspector.

Later, Shikha Joshi was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she was declared dead. “On the way to the hospital, Joshi was conscious and able to talk. When the roommate asked why she cut herself, Joshi said that she was frustrated because she could not get any work”, added the police inspector.
