Re: Your favorite spirit

Used to be vodka... and tequila, if shots or margarita. But lately, it is rum. Mainly because of the various flavors available off the shelf... and a very strong reason is its compatibility with pineapple soda

Winter coming.. do you drink more in winter?

I generally only have beer in summers.. switch to bourbon in winters.

Re: Your favorite spirit

In engineering college the favorite was Old Monk Rum with ThumsUp. Sometimes Romanov and Alcazar vodkas.

Later on, I started enjoying whiskey. When I used to enjoy whiskey, a good Single Malt was my thing. I never liked Black Label or any of the Johhy Walker series.

I used to enjoy Glen Morange, Glen Fiddich, McAllan, even smoky Laphroaig. I used to like Oban a lot.

Now its red wine and I enoy Merlots and Bordeaux.

Re: Your favorite spirit

I was ‘spirit neutral’ 20 years back, but beer is something I can keep guzzling. So on to it nowadays. Hooked to coors light nowadays.

In 90s friends used to have old monk in thunderbolt!!

In between enjoyed this too:

Same here.

If you liked Oban, try Talisker. Both distiller's and storm are awesome.

Also try Jura.

For red wine nothing beats 2 buck chuck's.

Re: Your favorite spirit

February 6, 2012 - Fearlessly Archived - Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

Charles Shaw Wines are currently only available in our stores where wine is sold.*

Happy Anniversary Charles Shaw!

Hard to believe that Charles Shaw Wines have been in our stores for 10 years. But it's true. Ten years since we first introduced Charles Shaw Wines at Trader Joe's. Ten years since the world went a bit bonkers for these $1.99* bottles of wine. In that time, we've sold about 600 million bottles of the various varietals. Yes, you read that right: 600 million bottles. Depending on what's available at any given time, you can expect to find Charles Shaw Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and White Zinfandel in our wine section.

Somewhere along the way, these wines were dubbed “Two Buck Chuck.” We wish we could take the credit for that, but alas, some other scribe came up with that moniker. We do think we know why these wines have struck a chord—they've proven that wine doesn't need to be expensive to be good, drinkable wine. These are not expensive; they are good, and they're very drinkable.

We've been selling Charles Shaw Wines for $1.99* a bottle for ten years. Ten years! With the same price! So buy it by the bottle, or buy it by the case. No matter which varietal you choose, every bottle is the same $1.99* price, every day. Only at your neighborhood Trader Joe's.
