I have always used www.remit2india.com and sometimes western union when I wanted to get the money across quickly. www.remit2india.com is quite reliable.

Bank Of America. 45$ std. irrespective of what amount of what you need to send. And the cash gets there in under 48 hours. ( A lot of times under 24 hours)

nahi re. I meant 45$ transaction charge.
So say you send 5000$ or 45000$, you pay 45$ for sending it. The rate is what the buying/selling rate is on that evening.

I send check from BOA. I anticipated it would be nearing the Rs. 50 mark per dollar by the time it would encash, so I sent the check 3 weeks ago by to be deposited in the bank.

Feel bad about the time when I last sent as the rate was around Rs. 38 or Rs. 39, but oh well.
