Question Which consulte denied it?

Was it Chennai or Mumbai?

And if I amy ask, was the last name Patel? No jokes, but somehow they just seem to reject Patel surname.

Recently a friend's parents visited for his gradiuation. He was telling me that his class-mate by the name of Patel could not have his parents over. The Mumbai consulate rejected their visa with no explanation.

Just sharing my experiences... maybe this will not help your query.

Supada.....checkout this site ....I believe you have a right to appeal within a time frame. Not sure though. Know more about Canadian Immigration.

yeah, it can be applied for a THIRD time by post, but that's just an eye wash. It will be rejected. PAKKA. You can apply again after two years.

eCharcha, you are rite. Patels do not get a visitor's visa. For UK, I think the consulate people have been given formal orders to reject Patels. Kyonki, Patel bhai US mein ghusney key baad, 5 ya 6 motels kholey bina vaapas nahin jaatey.

BTW, did your family (or whoever it was) take proper documentation? If you work in govt. job i've heard its easier to get a tourist visa. OTOH, there are so many urban legends around this whole visa thing.
