hey, this thread started earlier, so failure thread is in context of this one!

Tension nahee lene ka kya? You are not happy ... not even with a successful thread because you are taking success for granted and fear competition. While I get to enjoy the feelings of success with one popular thread because most of mine end up wasted. See?

Let me fool around with words ... Failures are easily contented ... easily happified so they get to enjoy success more than those are thought to be successful.

Not your fault. Me too on 2nd cup only.

Cause you are complaining. You ought to celeberate this milestone in your echarcha life.

On Mondays and Fridays, my 2nd and last cup of the day is always a real special coffee. Strong as bull. Specially brewed coffee made with beans collected from feces of wild cats in the wilds of Indonesia. Whole beans having passed through digestive system (salivary glands- esophagus- stomach- intestines- acids) does something to the beans, potent. No joke.

you are baapji. you are successful.

I guess you dont need to apply tadka of bungalulu (spicy red berry fruit found in arctic in the peak summer) pulled out of wild siberian white tigers mouths. Half masticated fruit loses its poison (for humans, though felines can digest it easy!) and its tadka tastes realy yummy. Tadka given to choco milk shake has 10 times more zing than Jägermeister.

Re: What is success

Everyone, ofcourse, has his/her own relative ways to analyze success/failures.....

For me, it would be something like this: If I have/had the freedom at every instance of time in my life to do whatever I wish to, I would say I am successful......

Now this can happen only if 1) one had infinite resources/wealth/power/intellect OR 2) one is 'dumb enuf' to always wish what he can achieve......!!!!

Anything done with a sense of compulsion/bondage always leaves you with a feeling 'wish I had enuf (money/power/resources/intellect) to do this' - a sense of deprivation and hence a realisation of failure....... So if one can say, I've always done what my mind has wished for, then he/she is successful......

until, one day in the future one starts to have pangs of regret about leaving a particular option for another one....

Rahul, I think, you are about 28 yrs of age. I also think you will have feelings and expieriences like I am having, at some point in future.
I have done according to my mind all the time, well given the restrictions not in my control... I now think I should rather have followed the path some of my peers have followed.

Sorry, I dont mean to extend my gloom to everyone else, khas kar on a friday!

That's what my definition of success/failure is..... Till the time you were able to do what your mind wished for, it was a period of success...... Whenever, (if its now) , god forbid, you are unable to do what your mind wishes for, then its a period of failure.....

If you are talking of an ultimate success or ultimate failure then I have a different take on the subject..... I think, there's no such thing for an individual as ultimate success....... The priorities/interests/goals & achievements of a person in life keeps changing all the time....... So ultimate success is hard to define/decide...... I think success comes in bits and pieces...... and they may be locally defined as the degrees of freedom your circumstances allow you...... More the degrees of freedom, more is the perception of success and vice versa...... Ofcourse, this is how I have come to 'rationalize' my 'inabilities'.......
