So whats the agri ceiling limit in Gujrat and other states.?

BTW just for curiosity as it's my profession , why do you wanna enter agriculture ? Do you really find it that rewarding ? UNless ofcourse you believe in to build land banks as they dont make any more land .
More importantly, shouldnt one hold an Indian passport to acquire agricultural land? Something tells me Amthaji holds American...probably that's why its a fantasy profession?

As regards organic khayti it won't be even 1 cent as beneficial as inorganic kheti irrespective of all the crap that Aamir Khan spewed on Satyamev Jayate .Whatever Shroff ( UPL kaa maalik ) was saying on the programme is a katu satya. Each and every word.

come on dude.. there are a number of workarounds for that.. 12.5 acres per family member is enough right.. one can easily get 100 acres that way.. thats plenty for farming right?

Don't know about ceilings.
When you have unlimited money, You can do lot of things. Can manipulate rules and regulations.

Second, Ofcourse India.

And....

Tanne maalum sae? Mhaare baap-dada bhi kissan howe. Mhare bapu ne tractor ke dealership chaalu kee tab se automobile kaa kaam suru kiya tha 1968 se. fir bhi kisangiri chaalu thi.

Amtha ...I had always wanted to ask ..may be asked somewhere cant recall...

Tere baap dada kheti may , tu engineer...fir yeh catering / restaurant / whatever bawarchi line may kaise entry maar gayaa ....phaarsi paRh kay tayl kaise bechne lag gayaa ?

I want to know the complete Amtha Bawarchi story as I have from years wanted to enter the catering business but none at home is in it's support .Its a strict no from everyone .I personally feel that this khaana khilaana buisness is the simplet and best and most instantly rewarding buisness in the world ...totally recession free ...always evergreen ....as long as you have the quality at the right pricing and serve what people want but isn't avaliable...

Kahin complete amtha engineer to bawarchi story ka autobiographical link ho toh chipka yahaan pay ...I would love to read and learn and question and question ....

Nahi yaar.
My dad and youngest uncle split the land in inheritance.
My dad had bought a farms on his own. Converted parts of it into Mango orchards. Sold it in early 80's to get money for my sister's wedding.
Sold inherited land just 10 years ago since we all siblings are here in US.

He started Hindustan dealership in late 60's.
Late added Suvega moped's. If anyone don't know, Suvega mopeds were selling like anything in early 70's. Luna entered in and killed Suvega. Because they didn't change/improve design.
So he added Rajdoot. Good decision.
Hindustan Tractors company taken over by govt, we got rid of dealership and added Swaraj.
We were one of the first dealers.
Later added HMT.
HMT started giving hard time, told us to dump Swaraj. Swaraj was selling better so told HMT to shut up or else.
HMT picked up, Swaraj slowed down. So Swaraj started nautanki. So kicked it out.

Later in 90 (me here and younger brother wanted to come here too), got rid of everything and retired.

Me....?

Engineer. Lost job twice due to recession. Always wanted to start something of my own, lost job, decided not to work for anybody but myself.
Waht to do?
Not enuff money for c-store, gas station, motel etc....
Thought about food. Recession proof. Sab ko khaanaa mangtaa.
Saale gore log apne bachcho ko spaghetti boil karnaa tak nahi shikhate.
So went for food.
Its got huge profit margin, but BIG operating expense.
Not like thela/dhaba.
Have to follow very strict health and franchise regulations.

But,

I am happy. Lost lot in life, gained lot, learned lot.

Amtha ...

When you thought of starting food business were you a GC holder / citizen already ?

Did you have any khaana pakaana experience in life or were there some friends and relatives that offered a helping / guiding hand ?

HOw did you arrange for the capital for starting a business in USA where norms are tighter than a chinki's choot and a fauji's boot ? Did you took financial help from your parents or friends ?

Accha tell me one thing more is it possible for someone in India to invest his white income in America in a food business like yours.I have several times read in Economic times adds from the US govt to the effect like Invest 5 crore ( the equivalent of the dollars ) in US and get a green card for your family instantly .IS getting a green card for a family so easy for someone in India who can invest 5 crore in US ?

I mean suppose I have 5 crore with me in INdia , can I like go to America for kholling a halwaai ki dukaan or something dealing in Indian khaanae peenae kee dukaan .

Re: What would be your fantasy business ?

What about manpower problems there ?? Are the margins sufficient to hire staff at $20-30 per hour ?

In my case, I think I'd go with a bookstore named Why Go Home .
I will buy land in USA and do farming in Amish way (use horse instead of oxen)
