![]() ![]() A Regina man who went to meet who he believed was a 13-year-old girl for sex has been sentenced to jail and now faces deportation. Yashandeep Dhillon was sentenced Monday to nine months in prison and three years probation for using a computer to lure a child under 16 for a sexual purpose. Dhillon, 32, was found guilty of the crime in October. He was arrested after he went to meet the girl, who was actually an undercover police officer, at a city bus stop in December 2010. Court heard that Dhillon had spoken with the girl several times in an online chat room over a four-month period, and that the conversations became increasingly sexually explicit. Dhillon, who had immigrated to Canada from India in the summer of 2010, now faces likely deportation to that country. He was ordered to provide a DNA sample to the national databank and must register as a sex offender for 20 years. Read more Here ![]()

TORONTO — An Alberta man was charged Wednesday after a flight attendant was injured aboard an Air Canada flight en route to India, forcing the plane to return to Toronto. The airline said the Boeing 787-8 was carrying 232 passengers when it took off from Toronto for Delhi on Tuesday evening. The plane had to turn around about two and a half hours into the flight due to an "incident involving a disruptive passenger," a spokesman said. Jaskaran Sidhu was charged with assault causing bodily harm, endangering the safety of an aircraft and two counts of mischief. He was set to appear in a Brampton, Ont., court on Wednesday. The aircraft's diversion back to Toronto marked the second delay for passengers on the flight. link
