Yes, and also under certain conditions it can be called rape if sex is done under promise of marriage, position, or some kind of threat .. it need not be physically forceful.

in bhandarkar's case however the court did not accept that he had committed rape , even though he had sex with preeti 16 times by falsely promising her that he would give her a role in films . he was actually set free by the court

BTW what happened to Tejpal case. Ayyub seems to have gotten busy with psec national pastime of hating Modi govt.

i never completely understood this exchange of services based on promises.
Isnt this like prostitution? No disrespect to anyone indulging in this but even in prostitution, you promise money for getting laid.
here you promise a role in cinema to get laid.... whats the difference? How does this become rape and not prostitution?

but even if she were a prostitute and she said no, then it becomes rape.

I guess you'd have to look into matters scheduled in court, but then I don't think they reveal a whole lot of info.

My grandpa was a lawyer, also used to do write-ups for newspapers on important cases being heard in Punjab Haryana High Court. So local papers are much more reliable than Delhi's English 'twist' media.

Yes it is all darkness after the news is milked enough No news about so many other cases after the initial hoopla.

In the bygone days, at least you wouldnt hear about it at all. Itna raada nahin hota tha. Dimaag ka dahi nahin banta tha. Saala khao, piyo, chaurahe ke dukkan pe thoda chitchat karao and aur life majjaa maa.....Kahan gaye woh din?
