The last 20 minutes in fact reinforce that conclusion. Why is the planner of the apocalypse a Hindu Guru and not a Mullah. It is because the novel was written by Vikram Chandra of NDTV.
The show is good though. Watching it again to connect some missing pieces.

It would be stupid to kill Hindus so you can attack Pakistan. No make sense.

But thats what the show is trying to say. Season 2 could show more of that. Looks like the season 1 covered a third of the novel. So, expect 2 more seasons.

Re: Review of Sacred Games Season 1 - Netflix Original Series

Did not realise season was not complete story.
Intriguing what still remains that proves Gaitonde was being made a chu*** for 20 years as jojo says before dying. Bhosle says some big attack on the country is imminent - if he knew it was a gas attack he would prep gas masks in addition to guns....

The director is good... I think it could have done with less of gaali galoch - like Jack Ryan, even without the cuss words, the story is enough to keep people interested.

I had been meaning to read this book. I wonder how the language was in the book.

Re: Review of Sacred Games Season 1 - Netflix Original Series

^^
From the wiki looks like the book did not sell what the publishers had hoped for. I.e., a failure.
It has 900+ pages. Will take a while to finish. I don’t plan to add to readership of Vikram Chandra.

One thing in NDTV though. The female anchors try to play neutral but the left bias can be seen. Barkha dutt didn’t even try. The make anchors Vikram Chandra and the boss Prannoy Roy himself do a better job of appearing to be neutral.

Re: Review of Sacred Games Season 1 - Netflix Original Series

When Gaitonde says that he is not into religion and religious bias but just focused on his business, it reminded me of Chota Rajan, the real gangster who was in the Dawood gang. Then the 1992 serial blasts made him leave Dawood and get into religion based stuff.

Anyway, I can see the Hindu phobic angle but the story has been altered for making an interesting screen play. I liked it so far. Hope Season 2 will be a blast!!

It reminded me of ArunGawli Gopalmath is Dagdi Chawl.
But his supposed missing from India and a Malaysian passport (I had to pause many times to catch it in the first episode) take from Chhota Rajan.

I didnt expect that Ms. Mathur to be shot point blank. I was surprised; reminded me of Zoe Barnes from House of Cards.

Spoiler Alert
Here is how they played-

The season starts with 2 things-
Saif seeking Validation and an attack on Mumbai in 25 days.
5 minutes before season 1 ends when 10 of those 25 days are over, Saif leads a major arms haul.
This leads to both Saif getting validation and coming on newspapers and the terror attack being averted with 15 days to spare.
Also the parallel story of how Gaitonde knew Saif's father also seems to have a simple explanation.
So, end of season

In the last 5 minutes the stage is set for season 2.
Focus shifts to father # 3 Khanna guruji in flashback. Also, we see that same Khanna guruji leads to saif realizing that preparations are for a nuclear attack.

Note- Pankaj tripathi and Nawazuddin immerse themselves in theor characters so well that i call them by their screen names - not so for Saif.

Still have not seen this one.

There are a lot of shows on Netflix pending .

Recently finished Ghoul. Actually I was not expecting the storyline .
