VB & Oracle

Hii everyone.

Im trying to run a vb script. It has a sql statement. :
select name from table;

it works. But if I write:
select distinct name from table;
I get a error.
Update also dont work to an oracle database. If a write an update to a access database i dont get any errors.
can anyone help me??

Posting that you got "an error" without giving the error message is next to useless. No one here is a mind reader.

For all you know, you may not have select or update permissions on that table with your login.
