Ashikaji, how dare we of days of of our religious importance and significance? Serious ... for instance, don't we wish to know reasons behind HOLI ... where and when did liquor and illegal drugs and harassing women on the streets became celebrations of Holi?

Fair question, don't you think?

Re: Our Holy Auspicious days/dates/Significance/how to perform prayers-procedure ...

23rd October 2014 ...

To our Jain friends ... and to those who never heard of Jainism ... Jains are way way less than %1 of Indian population. Why you never heard of religion called Jain? Because their faith doesn't allow them to complain complain complain all the time. They work hard and pay their taxes. Unlike worshipers and followers of RajMata, Shehzada, and Damad Sahib ... Jains do not live off of hard earned money of others.

The day we celebrate Diwali is also known as Mahavir’s Nirvan Kalyanak Divas commemorates the day Lord Mahavira ... the 24th and last Jain Teerthankar attained the soulfull bliss of Nirvana.

Mahavir Nirvan Diwas is celebrated on the Amavasya of the Ashwin month of Hindu calendar, hence coincides with Diwali day.

On the dawn of Ashwin Amavasya ... Lord Mahavir attained his nirwan in 527 B.C. ... Bhagavan Mahavira discarded the body and the bondage of all Karmas on that night of Diwali, at Pavapuri and attained Mukti or deliverance.

Ashikaji, why you no like Holi? Please correct if wrong ... Diwali is when Lord Rama and Goddess Sita arrived back in (name of city edited so as to not offend Nehru clan worshipers) after 14 years of vanvas and having defeated evil demon king Ravana. Ravana was not a bad person, all he desired was an illicit relationship with a virtuous married woman. Unable to find one, frustrated, he went up north across the ocean.

How to perform prayers? I don't know.

RaniRajaJi, please consult local brahiman to know time-to-perform-prayers ... or send time, date, and place of birth to Swamiji for more accurate muhurat.
