Angry Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

This is a mystery. Bengal used to give birth to great scientists. Examples: Jagdish Chandra Bose (NOT Subhas Chnadra Bose - some people's GK is so poor they don't know the difference!), Satyendra Bose, Meghnad Saha, Prafulla Chandra Ray, Amar Gopal Bose, Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri . . . . .

Why haven't we heard of such talent since 1947?

Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s? Is there any politics involved? Are they (Bengal's geniuses) being killed? I think a massive search, hunt down and physical elimination campaign was started in 1950s/1960s.

Change in environment cannot be blamed. Probably what came into picture is actual intention to snuff out their lives before anyone noticed them.

Or could it be due to exodus of Anglo-Indian genes? Many Anglo-Indians left India in the wake of independence. I presume Bengal had a high populace of Anglo-Indians. Did the above mentioned so-called Bengali scientists have Anglo-Indian background? A certain Briton invented ATM but even Western sources mention him as Indian merely because he was born in India.

It started producing art film makers and left wing intellectuals after 1947-50.

If I am not wrong the Communists in Bengal are democratically elected and indigenous and hence benign to the populace. Far from inhibiting they would catalyse the growth of Science talent. The root cause must be something else. I think someone from within the country but outside this state is intentionally harming it.

Soviet Union was good at science (especially space science), right?

Re: Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

I saw you spamming w/ this topic everywhere on net, almost on all n' every forum. Lol.

To answer you, it’s not only Bengal, but all over the world, all the major inventions what we have carried out,.. were carried out 100-150+ yrs ago,..
be it light, phone, automotive engines, gravity and so many other science rules,..

thereafter we have built only on top of it, not any totally new things that we have ever invented,........ Such as internet and recent thin Cells are just the advancement of Graham Bell's old phones,.. ,…..

No new scientists or real inventors / researchers have been born, and the reason being our society system.
Moolah ( Vitamin M ) Powers, status, career orientation, Educational power-packed paper weights aka degree/credential papers, and Society rules for designated career, ijjutt, soharat, daulat and so called path of success, a wealth path .
And, we have tons of colleges for just earning the degrees for sake of that paper, false prestige, ijjut in the society, and churn and earn mullah, holding super-posts and then enjoy powers and status...

...........and no one, really cares to really invent something, as life-style has become from "mouth to bread" and one must run in the rat race, for those rules, established by the society,….. or, you n' family members will strive..

Parents tell a kid, to get a good degree somehow and start earning filthy money,…..... Be a doctor or Engineer,... like it or not,..... Leave those any other hobbies,.... sports, music, invention, design, paintings,...
...............except Vikram sarabhai and such who had time, heredity money and hard-working of curiosity sort of science interest, could do something.. …
all over the world, we have many music and acting schools but have no,…. Bismiallh khan, Zakir Hussain, Birju, Shankar-jai kishan or Rafi or Amitabh, who had never taken any acting courses and classes,
and those Einstein, Galileo, Newton, Pascal, Graham Bell, Edison, Torricelli and plank, Bernoulli and Bohr, Charles, Gelusek, Taylor.. etc. were from that category,..

Today, we have millions of bachelor of science graduates, of “rutting” knowledge , but not a single real scientist who have, who can or who did invent something totally new, out of the blue,…….
all have, at the most invented and modified, more on the previous researches, principles, theorems and researches, at the most.
Real interest of a kid is killed by the parents,...... as, Docs and Engrs have more ijjut
so, whether or not a kid can have his/her own hardcore hobby, it's not allowed to tame any.

And, that's where , it stands the difference between a highly educated Manmohan v/s No education ( almost ) Modi. we have loads of hopeless Manmohans who can not apply their knowledge anywhere practically,
to invent / research something new.

And only Modi like people, can run the nation efficiently, also have ruled in the past, be it Hitler or anyone,..
and so is with that school retard and dimwit Einstein who worked outside the school to Be what he can,...or drop outs Bill Gates or Steve,..... Madam curie and so on,..

The today’s’ bachelorettes from whatsoever colleges and Universities ,. are a big fail and disaster, ( 'Coz that was not their real field of interest but society system diverted them to go there ) except they have followed the society system very well, how to get big degrees and earn filthy money, but can not invent a single pin ( suyi ) .

Only Sachin and Charles barkley. Magic Johnson and Andre agaasi kind of people can do better in their life, 'Coz their die-hard hobby itself, is their profession.
Sophisticated society system has killed all real skills, interest and innovative curiosity, it has just melted everyone in the society system to earn degree somehow, career, status, powers, earn true - false prestige,

Be a Boss, on power of Money.. it may not need real educational skills or development, just the showmanship Degrees,.. and earn Moolaah.. And, that's how you are called successful, as it brings it all - iijjuut, soharat and Daulat

I think there was an NRI movie of Paresh Rawal on this,... American Chai or something ! - Watch it.
Message was, don't push a kid to becomes a doctor,.. if his hobby is music, dance, art or even sewing and gardening.

..

Soviet union was a complete totalitarian state which could not even produce medicines for its citizens, but was making nuke submarines in dozens.
They were only good at military technologies that too way behind on critical technologies such as material science, that is the reason why all the russian jets that we have got to have an engine replaced/over hauled every 1500 hours of flight. Compare that to the Mirage engines with over 5000 hours of flight are yet to be overhauled.

On second thoughts "left wing intellectual" is like that "Bewkoof Jat" joke.

That is because Stalin and Kruschev used the danda and were not democratically elected. In a way this also meant no brownie points and no expectations to world outside the iron curtain.

Re: Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

I was planning another thread on this, but let me put it here

Bose seems to be the most illustrious Desi surname.

Subhash Chandra Bose
Jagadish Chandra Bose
SN Bose (boson and Bose higgin particle fame)
Amarnath Bose ( Speakers fame)

There may be more but can't recall.
