Re: Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

The Bengali intellectual :-

1) Thick black color frame circa 1960s-70s type
2) Usually shaven (unlike his other brethren in other regions of India).
3) Khadi kurta, bell bottom pants circa 1970s but now he goes out with cargos or denims
4) pudgy proportions
5) That typical Bengali face (Bengalis, don't be enraged. Any Indian can call out a Bengali from miles away - just as anyone can immediately call out a typical Marathi or Tamil).
6) The Jhola is now passe. Modern Bengali intellectual carries his jhola in a rucksack (but still wears khadi kurta that scratches his skin like an exfoliating sheet).
7) Footwear - gone are the days of chappals/ sandals. Nowadays he wears loafers or sport shoes.... regardless of his khadi kurta hiding his pot belly.
8) Wears a look that is so imposing that even if you have good grades in school, you dare not open your mouth with his intellectual scowl.
9) Did if forget the paan? He chews it only to conclude intellectual debates. Pauses in his discourse are meant for spitting the red juice - as a mark of statement of his convictions on the topic.
10) Behaves like he attained Nirvana while speaking of Tagore

To answer you, it’s not only Bengal, but all over the world, all the major inventions what we have carried out,.. were carried out 100-150+ yrs ago,..
be it light, phone, automotive engines, gravity and so many other science rules,..

thereafter we have built only on top of it, not any totally new things that we have ever invented,........ Such as internet and recent thin Cells are just the advancement of Graham Bell's old phones,.. ,…..

No new scientists or real inventors / researchers have been born, and the reason being our society system.
Moolah ( Vitamin M ) Powers, status, career orientation, Educational power-packed paper weights aka degree/credential papers, and Society rules for designated career, ijjutt, soharat, daulat and so called path of success, a wealth path .
And, we have tons of colleges for just earning the degrees for sake of that paper, false prestige, ijjut in the society, and churn and earn mullah, holding super-posts and then enjoy powers and status...

...........and no one, really cares to really invent something, as life-style has become from "mouth to bread" and one must run in the rat race, for those rules, established by the society,….. or, you n' family members will strive..

Parents tell a kid, to get a good degree somehow and start earning filthy money,…..... Be a doctor or Engineer,... like it or not,..... Leave those any other hobbies,.... sports, music, invention, design, paintings,...
...............except Vikram sarabhai and such who had time, heredity money and hard-working of curiosity sort of science interest, could do something.. …
all over the world, we have many music and acting schools but have no,…. Bismiallh khan, Zakir Hussain, Birju, Shankar-jai kishan or Rafi or Amitabh, who had never taken any acting courses and classes,
and those Einstein, Galileo, Newton, Pascal, Graham Bell, Edison, Torricelli and plank, Bernoulli and Bohr, Charles, Gelusek, Taylor.. etc. were from that category,..

Today, we have millions of bachelor of science graduates, of “rutting” knowledge , but not a single real scientist who have, who can or who did invent something totally new, out of the blue,…….
all have, at the most invented and modified, more on the previous researches, principles, theorems and researches, at the most.
Real interest of a kid is killed by the parents,...... as, Docs and Engrs have more ijjut
so, whether or not a kid can have his/her own hardcore hobby, it's not allowed to tame any.

And, that's where , it stands the difference between a highly educated Manmohan v/s No education ( almost ) Modi. we have loads of hopeless Manmohans who can not apply their knowledge anywhere practically,
to invent / research something new.

And only Modi like people, can run the nation efficiently, also have ruled in the past, be it Hitler or anyone,..
and so is with that school retard and dimwit Einstein who worked outside the school to Be what he can,...or drop outs Bill Gates or Steve,..... Madam curie and so on,..

The today’s’ bachelorettes from whatsoever colleges and Universities ,. are a big fail and disaster, ( 'Coz that was not their real field of interest but society system diverted them to go there ) except they have followed the society system very well, how to get big degrees and earn filthy money, but can not invent a single pin ( suyi ) .

Only Sachin and Charles barkley. Magic Johnson and Andre agaasi kind of people can do better in their life, 'Coz their die-hard hobby itself, is their profession.
Sophisticated society system has killed all real skills, interest and innovative curiosity, it has just melted everyone in the society system to earn degree somehow, career, status, powers, earn true - false prestige,

Be a Boss, on power of Money.. it may not need real educational skills or development, just the showmanship Degrees,.. and earn Moolaah.. And, that's how you are called successful, as it brings it all - iijjuut, soharat and Daulat

I think there was an NRI movie of Paresh Rawal on this,... American Chai or something ! - Watch it.
Message was, don't push a kid to becomes a doctor,.. if his hobby is music, dance, art or even sewing and gardening.

Question Re: Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

Somebody please confirm. Bengal produces many chess players, isn't it? I have a hazy memory of getting this impression by glancing at newspapers/magazines post 2000.

You are brainwashed by media and prejudiced.

Just who created the formidable Soviet Chess system?

It is not communism which is bad. It is the intentionally/unintentionally wrong way of applying it which is bad.

Re: Mystery: Why Bengal abruptly stopped producing scientists in 1947-50s?

After the movies like Shaurya, Anuranan and Chameli, he could have had elevated himself, for slow movies when Nasir and Om puri, Grisish Kernaaad, Nana etc were slowed down due to age / commercial entrance,
but the guys like Kay Kay menon, Nawaazzudiin, Hooda and Jawed jaffery... etc took his spot, for those low budget, slow movies... !

Rahul had almost all non-fame and junkie movies in his hand with non-significant roles. His height, body, chest, face complexion , eyes were also a POS. A similar other non-act Ch**ya was Millind Somand.

Such guys, including Dino Morea can never run/rule Hindi commercial cinemas. Thank God, though for sparing. No one even knows today, that Rahul was also in recent one, Dil Dhadkne Do !

Doesn't he look like Subramanyum Swami ki aulaad ?
