On that note, I'm thinking of starting some part-time work fixing iphones. I've done many battery and screen replacements. Thinking of charging cost of materials and 20-30 bucks to be donated right there to mine or their choice of charity.

Re: Achche Din

India overtakes France as 6th biggest economy in the world

I cannot find this report anywhere in the worldbankwebsite though and possibly india was in the 6th place last year too.

BTW, about a few hgours back, the india today news report credited modi for passing France. Now that credit is gome.

India is not alone in this suffering and it's not within India's control either.

you may not want to give credit where its due - fair enough, your shout, atleast don't pander to scaremongering and obfuscate the situation.

Now, for demonetization, you were affected as you posted elsewhere. But does fuel price rise pinch you now. How about your help and staff? And how much does rupee dollar rate and stock market fall affect you?
Why I am asking is because I tend to cross check my own din against achchhe din. In the india shining days of 2003, my salary was rising again lus a lot of luxuries like air travel became affordable.
The Congress rule did start pinching starting with mid day meal surcharge, then jump in service tax and then fringe benefit tax. And my cyber coolie employer was shitting in the pants when rupee went up to 35 a dollar. They did not lay off then though (that happened in 2008/9).
I will dig up my post from then to show even those days I did not cry about Petrol.

No I am not affected personally . But achche din are not coming at all . Where are the much touted achche din ?

During my Daman trip 3 days of driving a Toyota Innova cost me 3400 rupees of Diesel . Now I am easily capable of bearing the cost and more if it comes to that . But probably others will feel the pinch .

I don't invest in stock markets at all but what about those who do ? Another company ( IL and FS ) is having bad loan crisis now , which has affected the stock market . How come all this is still happening in an allegedly non corrupt government ?

does this tie with your impression of IL&FS problem or are you like Marvi blaming everything on the BJP government?

Re: Achche Din

Achche din for BJP in Mumbai. Looks like Mumbai will vote for BJP in 2019 elections and finish off Shiv Sena completely---

Re: Achche Din

So, the NDTV tickers of Petrol prices, plus hourly reports of mob lynching are not working.
BTW, wasnt Nana, once a supporter of Sena (some one commented while reviewing his 'Prahaar'). Which side is he now?

Not sure who put Saade Sati as a tag here, but some interesting posts from other thread with this tag.

the government is now taking over IL&FS btw... maybe should have let it fail? buggers have made a lot of money for themselves and now the pain will be shared by the tax payer.

Re: Achche Din

he will come up with some concocted explanation of what he actually meant.

But looks like salary rises will be highest in India.
BTW, my rokda on paper went up by nearly 3 times from 2000-2005. It is another matter my company went in a bad shape and the actual increase was closer to 2 times.
