Lousy Desis at workplace

Do you have any lousy desis that work at your office?

Let me give some examples I have observed -

Tamilians in US offices - They think too highly of themselves and are ready to pounce on any unsuspecting desi in the team. Even if they don't know a thing, they will prepare for interviews and ask the most tough questions to rookies to show off to Tech Leads and Managers. Circulate job openings within Tamil community.

Contractor vs Full time - Desis in full time jobs change their tone and attitude as soon as they know somebody is a contractor. They start a game of let me screw up this contractor and score points with my gora boss/manager.

Gults - speak in Telugu even in team meetings, unless a gora shows up. I've had to remind these idiots we are not in Hydra-BAD.

Other groups are less in number and I have so far not noticed any pattern to generalize and kick their ass for.

Re: Lousy Desis at workplace

I have some vegetarian desis at work who at the drop of their hat proclaim that they are vegetarian. For no good reason, out of the blue too. If you ask, I am going for coffee, do you want to join: the answer would not be yes or no. It would be, I am vegetarian...emm, yes, lets go. fgkasmf;lkzfdk

Re: Lousy Desis at workplace

I also haven't met any lousy desi or non-desi .
I have met a few hyperactive desis and non-desis - but you can't complain abt that.
One thing that I have noticed about desis is that they don't apologise even after realizing their mistake. That is annoying . But not such a big issue for me.

See, I think you will have a "desi" from every nation. Even from US, they behave like they have never been in cold weather, talk on and on about how "nice" it is where they live etc.
And some people immediately switch to Spanish if they have a group of 10 where 5 are Spanish.

So, its not just Indians, its with every one.

Re: Lousy Desis at workplace

Now some of these lousy desis from work live in my community .. mofos go straight from office to the tennis court in the evening (pathetic players, don't even know how to hold a racket).. these buggers won't leave court even though me and buddy are waiting there for more than an hour.. apartment people say its first come first serve basis.. so these people got a piece of my mind a few days back.. if it was India I would bash these idiots or chase them away.

I see people waiting when I'm playing I close up early .. and generally there's a one hour limit when somebody's waiting.. Desis screwing up America big time, I tell you..

There was this obnoxious surd where I used to work. He thought he was better than everyone, but it was quite the contrary. He used to talk loudly, pick up fights at the drop of a hat (turban, in his case), bring smelly foods to work, and was unnecessarily argumentative.

I completely understand what you are going through.
