...and this one is from a new flick. They streched the song too much, else it could had been much better - 'Bhula Denge Tumko Sanam Dheere Dheere'. Sonu Nigam ko hero banane ka chaska nahi lagata to legendary singer ban jata... what a talent

hmmmm.... see there are two ways to look at it... first, we often wrongly interpret entertainment as our regular hindi movie(or any movie).... you know dance-song-maa-desh-gunda-corruption-ladki stuff.... in fact may be entertainment has a wrong sound to it... if entertainment was all about seeing bright things and listening to happy songs... all those sad songs and sad moments in movies would not have become popular.

People read book, knowing that they would never receive the same pleasure out of a book that they get from an orgy of happiness of a movie. There is something in all this that appeal to us.

Then, my theory is, and I most prolly would be wrong, that the two forces inside us viz libido and mortido are not rival but complimentary forces. Mortido keeps your libido on its toes, so much so that this fear of death is the force that keeps you alive. Living is not only about this lust for life but also this rejection of going into death, the unknown. So mortido is as much important to us... it makes us appreciate death and darker things. It makes us regale in sadness.

And sadness has an after-taste, which is very identifiable to everyone because it is a part of everyone's life... we leave people, some die, some go away, some are far from you... it is never perfect.... we reason ourselves the inevitability of it but the aftertaste lingers... And that's why depression and gloomy thoughts are enjoyable.

Re: Haunting memories, glass of alcohol and a song....

The song is actually a Ahir Bhairav raag song ... Here, listen to

Ustad Chotay Ghulam ali Albela Sajan Aheer Bhairav .. i.e. morning raaga.
