Question Drop Sehwag and Kaif, says Kapil Dev

Do you agree with Kapil that Sehwag and Kaif should be dropped ??

Former captain Kapil Dev has suggested that both the players be dropped from the Indian team and made to play domestic cricket to regain their touch.

However, Indian captain Rahul Dravid and coach Greg Chappell strongly believe in the abilities of the two players and feel that they deserve a few more chances.

Do you agree with Kapil that Sehwag and Kaif should be dropped and younger players be given a chance? Or would it be unfair to dump these proven performers on basis of just a few bad performances.

kaif and sehwag both are best players among our team, no need to drop any one from both. then shut your mouth up kapil and just get lost.

Smile Re: Drop Sehwag and Kaif, says Kapil Dev

May be our great indian teams rotation theory can be used in deciding whether Viru and Kaif should stay. Shewag is a good batsmen, on his day he will make any country suffer and so is kaif. He has played a major role in many matches. But considering the fact that there are other batsmens (raina, Gambhir) who miss the squad....with good performance and average...it might not be a bad idea for viru and kaif to sit out for a match or two....get some more practice and then come back.

Kapil was a good player. and so was his team ....but i still think the current indian team is the best. We always lacked bowlers.....pathan is maturing as a good bowler...lets see how we will do in the next world cup.
Any Predictions??????
Cheers

Re: Drop Sehwag and Kaif, says Kapil Dev

in point of fact kapil was not that much all right player as ganguli, dravid and other are. actually he was lucky one for that time only. let us see viru up to the next world cup and kaif too play important role even now in every match by stopping an extra-ordinary 25-30 runs from opposition team like other can not do the same.

Re: Drop Sehwag and Kaif, says Kapil Dev

We have enough good fielders in the team now - with Raina and Yuvraj. I believe Kaif should be made the permanent 12th man - that way he can field for 10-12 overs in every match and we dont have to see his jittery nervous batting anymore (seriously, watching him bat is like seeing a dog give birth to a baby elephant).

Sehwag should be given some rest and made to play some Ranji matches to regain form. In the meantime Robin Uthappa should be given an opportunity to open - I believe he could be a good prospect for India. Then you have the choice of selecting one from the two. Gambhir is out of chances - he is way too inconsistent.

I think this issue needs some thinking. If we are not using kaif as a batsmen..then no use taking him. Cause it will really help to have a bowler as 12th man as our team dosent have that great bowling line up or may be a all-rounder might be really helpful

But the problem is, Kaif has a good average in ranji, just before England tour started... in the warm up match against England, Kaif single handedly defeated England (108 odd runs). So selectors are in a pickle here to decide wat to opt....and offcoure with the return of sachin things are going to get worst.

Shewag has been inconsistent for a long time now. And if u think of it, Gambhir and he have the same average in last couple of matches. They come, quick fire 25 odd and back to the dressing room. Dosent do any good for the team in long run. So Shewag needs more practice for sure.

Dude,

The supersub experiment is over. The 12th man cannot bat or bowl - he can only field as a sub or bring water. The team usually has 14-16 named players - so you can always have 2 more bowlers as subs. Kaif can still be a batting option in case one of the batsmen have to miss a match.

Make him the permanent 12th man - this way he can do what he does best - field and "Oye Kaif - paani la pehen de takke"

not bad idea......... . . Anybody know what is payment rate for all . .do they pay equal .. . . . for 12th man too.
I have heard that many more are stuck in team India just for money only.......
May be because of buttering policy . .. . .

Sehwag and Kaif might miss Indore clash

finally both of them r gonna miss the next match....but it shud be made clear to them that its not rotation policy but their bad performance which is the reason....

sometimes i even think that the world cup was a fluke...sorry for all those kapil fans....but common WI scoring low with the kind of average they had going in the final....was something of a chance. India made some 183 runs and still managed to win by 43 runs. Not to mention that we entered the finals with another close win over England.
