config.

well to start shell press f1 to f7 see what happens.use with shift and ctrl then see what happens!!!
While in graphics mode when the login screen comes..don't logon..just click sessions above and you can choose various options...KDE,gnome,etc. etc.then login...

for system config you have following commands
sound---sndconfig
mouse---mouseconfig
Xconfigurator------watch out for CAPS -X
and finally
linuxconf.
These commands can be executed by clicking on the terminal icon below left hand tray.
However in graphics mode you have gooey substitute for these.
Initially keyboards ruled over mouse..by now you end up clicking mouse more.!!!!

RPM is redhat packet manager..equivalent of add/remove programs under windows..check what all packages you have..

Users yes...users check out adduser command for help on any command type ---- commandname | help

By a book that will be more helpful than internet!!!

LOL....

Buddy.... you'll have to reinstall....there is no way in hell you can get that password. If I can think of some workaround, I will let you know. But if you can't remember that password, you can't get it.

Lie down on a hard, flat bed and stare at the ceiling fan for like 10 mts and think real hard. I mean real hard. If you still can't recall , try the following passwords...one of them is bound to work :

-iluvthakrey
-moslemssuck
-savehindus
-balthackrey69
-bt10000
-jaishivaji
-shivsenarules

Keep us posted.

Linux is friendly , it is only that it is extremly choosy in choosing friends

can ya log into windows (if you have dual boot) and get all the info about your internal modem. also try linmodems.org

if you are lucky then you may find a driver source code in which you can turn off header compression and error handling features and compile to have a driver that works at reduced performance.
