Auditor / Lead Auditor

There are professionals called "XYZ Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor" who certify organizations / processes to be XYZ compliant.

What is the value of these in the industry? Indian and global.

If anyone has knowledge, please share.

Its a nice profession. Lots of opportunities actually, specially in KPMG, PWC etc. You will need to be CA but I know for a fact they get a paid quite a bit.

What exactly are you asking here? Can you please be more specific?
Not sure about all industries but Financial sector prefer someone as auditors when they have CA as a designation. Its mainly due to the fact that they expect you to know the in and out of accounting policies, the way something needs to be treated etc. CA is the preferred designation...if someone applies without it, I am sure people will consider, depending on the work experience.

So...not sure what exactly you are asking.

I believe Peaceseeker is asking about the IT Auditor role like a SOX Audit, ISO Audit or something similar...

I was asking what did you mean by CA - Chartered Accountant OR Certified Auditor?
I was also asking whether you meant that a Chartered Accountant who is also a certitied auditor gets paid handsomely?

I meant chartered accountant (not certified auditor). I am sorry, I am not aware how they get paid in IT but in Financial sector, they do get paid handsomely. Usually the SOX requirements are overseen as part of internal audits twice a year. Once a year, the external auditing takes place (usually). So, as an auditor, you can be a part of the internal team or external.

This is a unique and specialised field. Generaly Big corporates specially process related go for various quality certifications. There are lots of compliances involved in getting those certificates. These professionals help in getting certifications and making ensure that proper guidelines being followed constantly.

Based on such certifications, corporates get confidence of their upcoming and existing clients.

This has nothing to do with Chartered Accountants.

Re: Auditor / Lead Auditor

I am assuming you know what these jobs are for, and what they do. Do you have any specific questions in mind other than their value in the industry? There is a good value, because they've to audit corporations to make sure they are following laws, standards and good practices in order to be certified.

thanks.

I wanted to know how much compensation can be expected in India for these professionals. I hear that consulting firms like pwc, kpmg. eny etc hire these professionals for good packages. Independent consulting work can also be undertaken.

Is a certification by itself a good enough achievement? or experience in the audit work is also a must b4 expecting a fat paycheck?
Also, what is difference between Auditor & Lead Auditor? Are the certifications different for the two?

More specific questions may follow.

thanks once again.

The best place to find out about the compensation would be through headhunters.
