Correct me if I am wrong but rabri itself is a dessert right? Then we are using one dessert to make another? If yes, then sugar+rabri=too much sweet?

Yes it is sweet - hence double ka MEETHA.

Never said this was going to be the healthiest dessert. Even at home (in India) we made this maybe once a year.

But you are not adding sugar to the rabri. You are sweetening the bread and then adding rabri to it. The good thing is this way you dont have to totally saturate the bread in sugar syrup. Just dip and remove. The bread then absorbs some syrup and some rabri and make it delish.

Ok thanks
makes me wonder, almost every wedding in Andhra has this dessert. This final course itself must be taking a lot of money, considering there are way too many ingredients (bread, milk, sugar, rabri, ghee) involved to make this. I wonder how this became such a success in wedding feasts. feast...that must be the key word.
