All-in-one printer

Planning on buying a printer (all-in-one) and have currently short-listed Canon MP600. Has any echan used this printer? Can he/she give his/her personal opinion on it?

Also, if anybody can find a good deal, let me know. The cheapest I can get it for is about $142... is there any lower price out there... on the web

Usually Canons have a high rating as far as photo quality goes. Check any reviews, you will find tonnes of Canon printers in the top ten. So, why not Canon? And why HP? Can you refer any HP printer (all-in-one) that you think is of high quality?

Re: All-in-one printer

by all-in-one I'm assuming you mean printer-scanner-copier. I have the Canon MP160 which I most times use for photo-printing. It has worked pretty well so far esp with glossy paper. But what can I ask for a $20 printer (Bestbuy thanksgiving promo ) I guess it sells for 80 bucks retail. Check it out, it's good for day2day home office use.

I have seent the MP160, good printer and very cheap... even now sells for less than 50 bucks. But it does not have good reviews, and being cheap you will get exactly what you buy. Not a very good photo-printer. MP600 is the one that has been getting the raves all around.

Re: All-in-one printer

I personally prefer Laser printers over Inkjets these days. Then again, I don't print too many photos. But, if I do, my Color Laser works pretty decently asa photo printer as well . So far, I'm still running on my original cartridges for my HP Color Laserjet 2600n. On top of that, since this printer comes with its own built-in network card, I can print from any of the machines in my apartment. With my old inkjets, I used to have to turn on the machine that the inkjet was connected to, and share the printer.

Re: All-in-one printer

I agree, Ink jets are a rip off unless you have high usage.. you are most likely gonna end up throwing the printer after the heads clog or get tired replacing cartridges which will dry up unless they are in use most of the time.

most ink jet manufacturers lure you in with a cheap price and you get sticker shock only when you try to get replacement ink cartridges, which will be soon, coz the starter set will run out pretty fast.

Go with a color laser/ there are many available these days at a competitive price point

Its not the cost of the printer you ought to consider ... its the cost of the ink cartridges. I got fooled ... Lexmark all in one ... I thought, I thought it was so bloody cheap at $ 99 and bought it . Took me few days to realize ... two cartridges alone cost more than the bloody stupid printer. Threw bloody thing in the bin ... went and bought expensive printer ... ink cartridges were 1/3 the cost of Lexmark ones for the same number of pages printed.

Sanebhai ... when you finished discussing printers ... can we discuss printing paper? So many kinds costing from $3.95 to $ 6.99 ... I get confused which one to buy and what is the difference ... I don't know.

Re: All-in-one printer

I have the Canon MP460 and it works quite well. Good for photos too. Fast printing, easy operation, LCD screen for preview. Got it for free (after MIR) with my home computer.
