Re: Recommendation for Netflix DVD Queue

There is a movie called Ground Control starring Keifer Sutherland before he became famous with the 24 series on Fox. Its available for free on Hulu. Do check it out. Nothing dramatic but a good look at how Air Traffic Control works.

If you like Kung fu movies , there is an excellent movie called Ip Man. It has English subtitles but the fight sequences are amazing.

Re: Recommendation for Netflix DVD Queue

Also the all time hit and superb movie 'Heat' starring Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro is a must watch. I can never tire of watching this movie. This is the movie which has inspired so many bank robbery movies in Hollywood and rip offs like Kaante in Bollywood.

Offcourse Kaante was a rip off mixture of Heat, Reservoir Dogs and a bit of The Usual Suspects. So kudos to the script writer producer to come up with a good combination of rip offs.

Re: Recommendation for Netflix DVD Queue

Snatch - if you want to watch a fast-action comedy.

If you are into WW movies,

Escape to Victory
Bridge over River Kwai
Guns of Navarone
Schindler's List
That Tom Hanks/Matt Damon movie (forget the name)

And if you are into Westerns,

The Good The Bad The Ugly
For a Few Dollars More
(both for Lee Van Cliff)

You must make a Gangster Movies queue and add these-
Casino - Superb starcast, superb story - Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone
Goodfellas - Based on real life mobster Henry Hill. Very good movie - Ray Liotta
Once Upon a Time in America - Full 4 hour movie but worth watching. This movie was inspiration for title and story of the Hindi film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai
Eastern Promises - Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen. Good movie showing underworld operated by East Europeans in America.
Donnie Brasco - Al Pacino and Johnny Depp - Very good movie

I have seen all of these and highly recommend them!

Re: Recommendation for Netflix DVD Queue

Saving Private Ryan -- I used to like it during my graduate school days, but now I feel weird (specifically seeing how US soldiers are dying in a mindless war that shouldnt have been started in the first place) ...

Good fellas I have seen ... I love it ... the same with Heat ... havent seen it for a long time .. may be worth a watch ...

BTW, do you guys watch movies with your family ... or alone ... cuz, some recommendations may be good for guys but not for gals (specifically the married kinds) ...

thanks, keep them coming
