Need to buy an LED TV (32")
hello ECland,
I am planning to buy a 32" LED TV (1080p). Can you please recommend one? LG, Samsung, Bravia, Philips? Thanks Ravi |

Samsung is the best. ![]() Have 40", and love it. Go to any appliance store and see the result yourself on side by side. Literally. I mean tell the sells staff to turn off rest (brands) if they are placed apart. Second choice would be Bravia.

Re: Need to buy an LED TV (32")
Actually, in India, transmission is still in 4/3 aspect ratio while all these slim TVs are 16/9.
So there is some distortion! Shops cunningly show some DVD to 'help' you judge the quality.

you only buy for picture quality..not audio...almost all LCD/LED TV sets spend hardly 25-30 USD on Audio circuits (including Speakers)

Re: Need to buy an LED TV (32")
Are you going to view all HD channels? Or its Zee TV Saas Bahu serials? Or a mix of both?
Does your cable provider really provide HD or just compressed HD like quality? Does it matter if you can see the acne and zits on VJs of MTV or pock marks on Jay Leno's chin? All this is to decide if you wish to shell out extra bucks for FULL HD. Do you plan to buy a BLU RAY player and then watch some HD movies? Again, there are many TVs in LED which are either FULL HD or HD READY. The brand does not really matter these days as most are competent and good companies. |

I'd also like to make it future proof (5-6 years). I am interested in what features to look for. I know some TVs can play right from USB - which is cool, but I don't tend to trust built in codecs. Last edited by Ravi; October 31st, 2011 at 11:14 AM. |

I think Samsung would be your best bet. They have the internet ready 1080p HDTV's 120hz are really getting rave reviews.
I think you should go for the 46" model. 32'' would be too small. Do remember to buy the wireless USB adapter since its sold separately.

I agree with echarcha - many brands have same quality as far as LED TVs are concerned. So no need to spend money on buying a branded TV when you get the same quality at much less price.
My recommendation - Vizio - good quality ,less price. |

at 32 inches if i were you, i wouldn't worry about brands or future proofing it.. i'd just pick whatever was the best deal out there... and india does seem to have some good deals with flat panel tvs these days.. i noticed a 40 something LG at my parents house a few years back and the price sounded pretty reasonable too..

Re: Need to buy an LED TV (32")
32" Screen! 40" screen! Bullshit.
Doctor told me to not sit too close to television cause it damages eyesight ... this considering my television is Sony 17 inch. It comes with remote control. I sit and watch like royalty. Who are you people? Do you live in a normal home or a house size of movie theater? Ravi Sahib ... these Mukesh Ambanis are making a fool of you. Don't listen to them. There is new 21 inch latest model Sony in market ... perfect for a man of refined tastes like yourself.
