Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

http://www.ontheissues.org - I came across this pretty cool site that lists out all candidates' positions on all major issues.

There is also a Presidential VoteMatch Quiz to identify who's closely aligned with you: http://www.ontheissues.org/Quiz/Quiz...?quiz=Pres2016

Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

My pick so far has been Marco Rubio. I like his style and his position, generally speaking, on most issues.

I know who I don't want to be president - Donald Trump. I'm surprised that clown has gotten this far. I just hope he doesn't end up becoming president.

Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

Interesting results from Iowa Caucus.

Trump lost. Thats great news. Cruz won and Rubio got a bump. I think Rubio might still end up being the Republican candidate and possibly the President.

Huckabee and OMalley have dropped off.

I thought Hillary would be a sure fire nom, but looks like Sanders is giving her a good contest.

If the Republican nominee ends up being Rubio, I might consider voting for him over either Sanders/Clinton.

Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

Trump lost Iowa. What does it mean for his prospects? Is it like "1 gone, 49 to go"?

Hillary won Iowa. Is that good or bad?

Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

Trump came in second in Iowa. The media is feasting on it because he kept harping how he is such a great winner and he always wins and he is going to win and everyone else is going to lose because everyone else is a loser and he is a winner. That son of a bitch got sucker punched in Iowa and I'm loving it.

But that's not the end of his presidential race. Past winners of Iowa did not end up becoming presidential candidates (e.g. Santorum and Huckabee). So Cruz's victory does not assure him of a nom. But Trump's loss sucks out the energy from his antagonistic, self-aggrandizing campaign. If Trump doesn't top the NH polls next Tuesday, his candidacy is toast.

I personally feel Marco Rubio is a rising star. As other candidates keep dropping out, he will draw in voters.

On that note, Rand Paul dropped out of the race. He had 4.5% in Iowa. This might benefit Rubio.

John Kasich for me from Republican side. Great governor from my state.

He has signed some good bills for the public of buckeye state. If I was a citizen I would vote for him.

Unfortunately, he's largely unknown. Even today, I haven't bothered to look him up. I feel like he's in it for the VP seat

Re: US Presidential Elections 2016

Caught up parts of Democratic townhall ydy.
Hillary Clinton seems to be copying from Kejriwal by saying she will go after Banks, Insurers, large corporations, etc.
Bernie Sanders seems to be inspired by likes of Rammanohar Lohia and co. He sounded quite convincing in his arguments for free college and healthcare, but only those who analyze how things really work could know that his plans will be failures.

Hillary seems to be going after the drug companies. She may have a good point. She thinks drug companies execs are all ex-Republican officials. There seems to be a revolving door policy among republican officials and drug companies. She says that drug cos are gouging customers and wants to crack the whip on them. Makes sense, at some level, to me.

If she guarantees action, I would vote her in. I bought an ear infection drop prescribed by Doctor last month, fuckin thing cost 120 bucks for 40-50 drops in that miniature bottle, after applying a coupon that took 80 bucks off.

Patent is held by some desi researchers for a few more years in US. In India that same bottle of drops costs less than a Rs. 50.

What kind of insurance do you have? My one month's supply of medicines costs $10 (after insurance). It would be Rs 250 or so for what the doc prescribed in India. But apna chemist found generic equivalents and the cost was Rs 60 or so for them.

If cost is 200 bucks best insurance would still be costly, I don't really care too much personally .. But public is really suffering. Other stuff I noticed is that expiry date is within 9-12 months.. There's a huge syndicate.. Of insurance companies n drugs manufacturers
