Re: Trump's Immigration changes

Now even green card holders travelling to United States will have to go through secondary screening. So not a good time to travel out of US even for GC holders irrespective of nationality.

Still early days for this law and it may be amended later on but for now, need to be careful if you are not an American citizen.

If you are coming from one of banned countries, then there will be extreme vetting anyways.

a better analogy is
Rail Strategy planned by Congress, implemented by Congress. Laloo became the rail minister and increased the tonnage of the Cargo trains and took the credit of making profits for Railways.

except ofcourse in Trumps case its not really credit he is getting. He is getting brick-bats for the decision...

so this is like Congress has done all the shit, all 60 years of congress rule resulting in black money, corruption, backwardness etc etc... Modi comes around and tries to clean it up a little bit, ends up getting all the Brick-Bats...

(disclaimer - this post is neither Pro-Trump, nor against him. That view is still being formed.)

A friend (who is on H1) and his wife (on H4) were supposed to fly to India this week. They postponed/canceled their visit to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

there should be no unpleasantness for desis unless you have torenew your h1, get it stamped go to consulate etc.. then it's a different can of worms.

also am hearing that if your H1 is not thru a big firm (cts/tcs/infosys etc..) they are giving you a tuff time.

I guess it's better to be cautious (or paranoid) until the dust settles down.

I believe his H1 is through a small company, maybe that's why.

That is surprising. USCIS hates big companies- even American ones.

Re: Trump's Immigration changes

Reading some horrible stories. Some are asking to not travel domestically- not sure if all of this noise is for a reason.
