Re: Are we supposed to celebrate Ireland's marathi origin PM , even though he is gay ?

Before talking of Leo Varadkar's sexual orientation and preferences, the question is - Does he consider himself to be somewhat Indian? Maybe a small portion?

In the USA, there was Governor Bobby Jindal who was born to Punjabi parents, but I think he had turned Christian.

Almost every Indian origin politician abroad turned Christian in teenage.. or else they won't be accepted. But US has a Samoan-White Hindu politician Tulsi Gabbard.

Ireland is a catholic country. them electing a prime minister who is openly gay and openly Indian Origin... is something.
having said that, being gay does not affect his abilities as an administrator or a leader... so why not?
