Question Salmon fish - Healthy or a Health Risk?

When I was in Mumbai, I used to eat fish atleast 2 or 3 times a month as fish is available in abundance in Mumbai.

The usual fare was Pompfret and couple of other fish called locally as "Rawaas" and "Surmai".

Out here, I did not like the catfish but of late have developed a taste for Salmon fish. I usually fry it lightly with some desi masala and some breading or just make a curry with very little oil just the way my mother used to make (but not so good).

Now there are a lot of opinions that eating seafood causes mercury levels to rise, etc. etc.

Can you enlighten me if Salmon is a good fish to eat? Does it contain all these mercury and other things?

Not just Salman but many other varities of fish are included in the case of high mercury levels.

Fear is more for the danger to the health of young children and pregnanat women who should avoid eating mercury poisoned fish of all kind not just salmon.

I've had mixed results. Some areas are definitely softer after eating the salmon. Most areas feel the same. Certain areas felt itchy.
