Reminds me of a time in college back in the 60s when this girl I admired looked so beautiful that day that I wrote on a piece of paper, "You look wonderful tonight" and then cancelled the "tonight" and replaced with "today"... wishing it could have stayed tonight

Do you ever address strange women with sweetheart or other terms of endearment? Enquiring minds wanna know.

I have had many strange women call me sweetheart... or sweetie... or darling... but I think I have to get a little bit more older to get that confidence to call girls the same way. I have started trying with little ones, calling them sweetie... cutie... cutie-pie... and all. Still have to progress to older ages... maybe in a few months' time. Will start slow though.

Thank you. For expanding my musical horizons.

OK. Here's one that's fun ... I think. Joe Cocker — Leave Your Hat On. I first heard this song in the movie "Nine 1/2 Weeks," starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger. Basinger starts stripping, and Rourke is watching her grinning — or is it salivating? — like a boy who now has a new toy to play with.

Believe me, they are all classics. Each song will grow on you... and you will remember these songs at specific moments in life

And there are a lot... I will post as I remember them (waiting for those special specific moments).

Abey saaley, thread ka title padh. Classics... on what level is a fun song in the same class as a classic Please remove the video... or move it to a new thread where you can post 'fun' songs. This is for classics... songs that stir memories from past... or songs that raise your levels of depth.

Fastidious, are we?

Hey, I listened to each of those songs at least three times by now.

Thank you. For providing me with my latest obsession.

Anyways, in that post, I've replaced "Joe Cocker - You Can Leave Your Hat On" with "Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Part 1."

Happy now?

Thank you. Thank you for your appreciation of my consideration and consideration of my appreciation. The Pink Floyd one is good but I usually like some lyrics in my songs (my personal issue here... nothing to do with the song posting) and this one brings them on in the 8th minute (much after most songs would have ended).

For some reason this is a personal favorite... maybe because of the story behind it... maybe because of the original video... don't know why exactly.

Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton

Re: Nothing but classics

This is one of the first country/western song that I listened to and it put me on a path of exploration... of this whole new field of music. In fact it brought together my love of reading westerns (Louis L'amour and JT Edison and all) and the music that worked behind them.

El Paso - Marty Robbins

I don't remember having ever read any westerns (the books). I suppose that the music form called westerns and the genre of books called westerns are related. To me ... they remind me of the Wild Wild West and US expansion towards the Pacific (manifest destiny, that's what it was called, wasn't it?).

This song definitely has a western feel to it. You couldn't write a song like this titled "Boston" or "New York".

OK. That was my first ever Marty Robbins. And the second Eric Clapton I listened to after Wonderful Tonight. Tears In Heaven sounds weary, resigned, or is that sad?

Chalo bhai tum dono ki monopoly todte hai .

There was this song in Khamoshi called - Jaana Suno . Now it was a very good song , until someone actually mentioned the inspiration behind .

It is indeed very mesmerizing . Your thoughts ?

Re: Nothing but classics

And this Paul reminded me of the other Paul... and a plethora of his songs... mainly his album Graceland (and this is also because of my recent trip to the place). If there is any album that can be considered a classic then it is this one, Graceland. Beautiful songs all around... and those African rhythms... hmmmm, heaven.
